2025 brought a mix of political change, economic uncertainty, and cultural highlights to Argentina, and this was clearly reflected in Google’s news results. This article looks back at how news about Argentina surfaced in Google Search, based on visibility data from the Trisolute News Dashboard.

The analysis covered the period from January 1, 2025, to November 30, 2025, and combined visibility on mobile and desktop devices. All ranking types were included, namely News Box headline, News Box text, News Box carousel, Video Box, Publisher carousel, Other carousel, Web Story, Featured Snippet, Visual Digest, and organic rankings.

For this year in review, the focus was on the following Google news categories in Argentina: Noticias destacadas (Top stories), Titulares (Headlines), Argentina (National news), Internacional (World), Negocios (Business), Ciencia y tecnología (Science and technology), Entretenimiento (Entertainment), Deportes (Sports), and Salud (Health). Each category section shows the top 20 publishers by visibility score, including how many rankings they achieved and across how many keywords. It also highlights the 25 most ranked keywords in that category and takes a closer look at AI Overviews, based on the total number of SERPs per keyword, how often AI Overviews appeared, and which share of SERPs that represented.

Rankings in this analysis reflect how strongly topics and publishers were surfaced by Google. They do not directly measure audience interest, although search behavior certainly plays a role, and they are also influenced by factors such as Google’s interpretation of relevance and freshness. Understanding these patterns can help publishers evaluate their performance across categories, identify opportunities in specific topics or SERP features, and refine their editorial and SEO strategies for the coming year.

The category Noticias destacadas represented the most prominent stories in Google’s top stories environment in Argentina. It brought together a wide range of topics that defined the national news agenda across politics, health, economics, and international developments.

Infobae, La Nación, and Clarín clearly dominated the Noticias destacadas category, combining high visibility with extensive keyword coverage, which points to a consistently strong presence across a wide range of news topics. It is also notable that several international or institutional sources, including Wikipedia, PAHO, and WHO, achieved substantial visibility despite working with far fewer keywords, indicating concentrated prominence in specific subject areas.

By contrast, high-volume news terms like “covid” and “coronavirus” showed very low AIO penetration, indicating that AIOs played a much more prominent role in broad informational queries than in fast-moving news topics within this category.

Across 115,073 SERPs in Noticias destacadas, AIOs appeared in 2,186 results, representing 1.90% of the total. This indicated that AIO had a limited presence in this category and was only marginally integrated into the broader news landscape throughout the year.

Category: Titulares (Headlines)

Titulares captured headline-level news coverage that went beyond the very top stories while still focusing on highly visible and frequently updated topics. This category reflected which actors, conflicts, and events shaped the daily news flow in Google Search.
