Surveillance Period: 20th March to 20th April 2015
In this analysis we show the visibility of the articles of the various publishers to the named keywords in the Google News Box. The keywords are in this case the political parties in the shown spelling. The results show a similar pattern. The Guardian and the online offering of the BBC News have highest figures as their appearances in the Google News Boxes are concerned. Also the absolute figures of the keyword “SNP” in comparison to the keyword “Tories” are remarkable.
Surveillance Period: 20th March to 20th April 2015
This analysis shows the visibility in the Google News Boxes for the two main competitors of the general election. Whereas for Mr. Cameron there is basically only a relevant volume in the Google News One Boxes for the keyword “David Cameron” the situation is very different for Mr. Miliband. Here there is visibility for “Ed Miliband” which is used by most online publishers but there is as well relevant visibility for the alternative “Edward Miliband”. There are only two publishers who use this potential yet: The Guardian and in a bit smaller scale The Daily Mail.
